Home Sleep Testing Process
For patients that do not have complicated medical histories and prefer the convenience and comfort of a home sleep test as opposed to an in-lab test, Vitalistics™ makes it easy for doctors and patients, 18 years of age and older, to benefit from home sleep testing. We provide continuous patient assistance and a quality interpreted report with a clinical diagnosis and recommended plan for treatment. Customized tools and workflows make the process easy for both the physician and the patient.
Prior to the delivery of the test, Vitalistics will contact the patient to walk them through the process and answers any questions they may have. The Home Sleep Test Kit is then delivered directly to the patient’s door with easy-to-follow instructions. Vitalistics provides continuous patient support throughout the testing process, including a 24-hour, 7 day/week hotline and access to a live, US-based Registered Sleep Technologists. We work with your patients to ensure the testing process goes smoothly and any questions that they may have are answered quickly. The natural at-home sleep environment facilitates a normal night’s sleep, improving the accuracy of test results.
Home Sleep Testing Step-by-Step
Assess Patient. Assess and evaluate your patient to determine if their there are symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea.
Check your State. Vitalistics is currently expanding our service of home sleep testing state by state. Check to see if home sleep testing is available in your state.
Order a Test. If symptoms are present in your patient, sign in to your account with Vitalistics or create a new free account. Once you’re signed in to your account, request a home sleep test for your patient in the dashboard. You can also fax your order – download an order form here.
Home Sleep Test is Performed. Once you have prescribed a HST, we will contact the patient and schedule a delivery of the Home Sleep Test Kit to the patient’s home. The patient follows the step by step instructions provided and undergoes the sleep test that night, returning the device in a pre-paid shipping envelope the following day.
Wait for Results. Once Vitalistics receives the home sleep testing device, the test is scored by a Registered Sleep Technologist and interpreted by one of our board-certified sleep physicians. We then immediately send the results back to the referring physician.
